SMAELTA is a new Swedish brand run by Lotta Pettersson, graduate of the Danish School of Design in Copenhagen. Lotta is a thrid-generation glassworker and she launged SMAELTA in 2015. SMAELTA is the nature of Småland through hand-blown glass. The elvish and enchanted nature of Småland is an infinite source of inspiration with its forest, water and meadows. Lotta has a predilection for utility goods where functionality and expression are equally as important. The forms are simple and austere, showing that she belongs to the Scandinavian design aestheticism.
